Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose” was Tame Impala’s choice for a cover performance on Triple J’s Like A Version. The group also played their own track “Dracula” during the session.

Kevin Parker said several members had come up with the cover idea independently, but they initially considered the song too difficult to attempt. He described it as a childhood favorite, noting the unexpected rhythmic changes that make it more complex than it might first appear.

Parker explained that the group became more comfortable with the decision after acknowledging that nobody in the lineup sounded like Seal. They settled on performing it in their own way rather than matching his voice.

The song featured on the Batman Forever soundtrack. Seal’s Instagram account responded to Tame Impala’s post with clapping-hand emojis; the singer outsources his social media activity.
