The ten columns forming the hotel’s façade pay homage to the ten heritage shophouses that once stood on site. The intricate brick layout of each column draws inspiration from and is an abstract 3D interpretation of the native Tako tree that can be found in neighbouring temple grounds. The charcoal alleyway that greets guests checking-in pays tribute to the Javanese hawkers who used to grill satay skewers by the streets in the past. The interior of the hotel is adorned with beautiful paintings by local artist, Sumath Kunsumas, and specially commissioned photographs of the local neighbourhood.
