Creative entrepreneur Johnny the Hobby Artist spent time in Ft. Worth’s Kimbell Art Museum before writing new song

Johnny R. Sanford, III, known by his fans as Johnny the Hobby Artist and JRS3, is the creative entrepreneur and musical mastermind at JRS3 LLC. Through his company, Johnny the Hobby Artist has released singles such as “Thank You” and “Can’t Fill My Shoes”. He’s also released a carefully curated selection of music inspired comfortable t-shirts. When it came time to sit down and write a new single, he was met with creative blocks.
“For a year, I lost my creativity,” said Sanford. “I was going through something, but I made it through.”
One of the greatest keys to his ability to break through creative block was his perseverance. He discovered Fort Worth’s Kimbell Art Museum, which was celebrating its 50th anniversary, and as he roamed the galleries there, he felt his creative cup begin to fill again. Soon, Johnny the Hobby Artist would get the inspiration to create the song “Coffee”.
According to Johnny the Hobby Artist, coffee is transcendent. People from all backgrounds enjoy coffee, and they can connect over it. The single “Coffee” is perhaps the perfect coffee shop song, flawlessly showcasing Johnny the Hobby Artist’s unique style and blend of soul, funk, and hip-hop. Listeners are left wondering if the song is really about the longing for coffee or for something else.
“Coffee” was produced by Johnny the Hobby Artist and mixed and mastered by the talented Beau Vallis. The highly anticipated new single drops on all streaming platforms on March 17, 2023.
