Look Up: Dex System Publishing's Alien Encounter Fiction for Stargazing Season
First-contact fiction timed to August's meteor shower season.
New Rochelle, New York Jul 30, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - With meteor shower season drawing eyes skyward, Dex System Publishing is pairing the moment with its first-contact and alien-conspiracy catalog for a timely seasonal hook -- a natural follow-on from the fireworks-lit skies of the Fourth of July a few weeks earlier.
Marvin Hamner appears twice in this feature, with Magic Aliens and Venus Rising: The Galactic Conspiracy Within. He's joined by Alien Magic from William Benjamin and They Are Here from Yug Gohan. Together, the four titles cover a wide range of tones, from playful to conspiratorial.
"We liked the idea of readers looking up at the same sky twice in one summer -- once for fireworks, once for meteors," a Dex System spokesperson said. "It's a small seasonal thread, but it ties the catalog to something readers are already doing outside."
The pairing is well-suited to genre and fandom press, as well as podcasts covering the current stargazing season. Marvin Hamner's double appearance on this list makes him a strong candidate for a short author spotlight alongside the main feature.
Outlets running skywatching guides or meteor shower coverage this month are encouraged to consider this list as a companion piece -- a fiction pairing for readers who are already planning to be outside after dark.
