LAIKA has released The Wildwood Sessions, a compilation of previously unreleased music tied to its stop-motion film Wildwood. Contributors include Aminé, Saya Gray, Still Woozy and the Decemberists, with the album arriving ahead of the movie and its official soundtrack.

The collection includes several Portland-based artists: Portugal. The Man, New Constellations, Aminé and quickly, quickly. Among the tracks are “Anyway” by quickly, quickly and “I Want To Be Lost” by the Decemberists.

A different new Decemberists song, “The Better Part Of Bravery,” accompanies the film’s closing credits. It will appear on the official soundtrack alongside Dario Marianelli’s original score. That soundtrack is due to arrive at the same time as the movie.

The film adapts Wildwood, a youth novel written by Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy. Its story takes place in an imagined, fantastical Portland, providing the setting for LAIKA’s stop-motion adaptation.
