Graham Hill, the drummer for Beach House, has announced Taking In Stars, his first solo album, and shared its lead single, “Monster In My Head.” The 10-track record is scheduled for self-release on 1/22/27.

Hill said the single grew out of a late-night discussion with his son, who was struggling to sleep as he entered his teenage years. His son described hearing music repeat in his mind without being able to stop it, an experience Hill said connected with his own tendency to overthink unresolved or uncertain situations.

Donald Markowitz co-produced the album with Hill. Contributors include Shane Theriot and Gabe Stillman, while Tif Lamson features on “Promise That You Live For” and phin appears on “Pink House Blues.”

The tracklist opens with “Better Ways,” followed by “Your Own River” and the lead single. Other songs include “Gravel Ghost,” the title track, “Heart Like The Sun” and “Sunday Return.” “Wrong Place Saloon” closes the album.
