British six-piece art-rock band Blue Bendy have shared the single “Vocal Fry Academia” ahead of their second album, One Day This Will All Be Lore. The record is scheduled for release through Practise Music on 1/29/27.

Lead singer Arthur Nolan said he began writing with the song’s title and developed the track from there, reversing his usual approach for the first time. He described its concerns as including parasocial relationships, self-loathing and performative vanity, alongside a desire both to participate in online culture and to stand apart from it.

Keyboardist Olivia Morgan directed and shot the accompanying video. After taking an essay-and-collage approach to the earlier single “Dragonslayer,” she said she wanted to build more of a narrative for “Vocal Fry Academia,” recruiting friends to act.

Morgan said the production involved experimentation and learning as she worked. She credited friendships and mutual support with helping artists realize their projects, and described the video as a homage to David Lynch and its performers.
