Bradford Cox has released “Octoberland” through 4AD, his first song under the Atlas Sound name in almost 15 years. The recording follows the revival of his solo project onstage and announcements of several festival appearances.

Cox directed the music video accompanying the track. He had previously performed “Octoberland” at the Making Time ∞ festival in Philadelphia, where his set consisted entirely of new material. That appearance marked his first proper performance in seven years.

The newly announced festival schedule also includes a collaboration between Cox and Lockett Pundt, his bandmate in Deerhunter. The two are due to appear at Big Ears in Knoxville in April.

Atlas Sound is also listed for May's Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City and June's Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Those bookings followed the Philadelphia performance, adding further live dates as Cox brings the project back into public view.
