Cloud Nothings have announced What Kind of Hell Did You Survive?, the follow-up to 2024’s Final Summer, and shared the single “Death Keeps Me Alive.” The album is scheduled for release on 1/29 through Pure Noise.

Frontman Dylan Baldi said the band wanted to move beyond the constraints it felt within indie rock and show other musical interests. He described the record as a tribute to heavy rock the members have listened to in recent years, naming Queens of the Stone Age, Motörhead, Earth and Electric Wizard as influences.

Baldi said politically minded metal and hardcore informed his lyrics, which address cruel governments, community and anger about world affairs. He described the single’s narrator as an enduring evil force sustained by death, war and hatred.

Alex Scalzo-Brown directed the single’s black-and-white video. The band also listed November tour stops across the UK, Spain and Portugal, beginning at Bristol’s Simple Things Festival on 11/07 and ending at Lisbon’s ZDB on 11/21.
