Kojima Productions has unveiled a teaser for Death Stranding Isolations, an anime series headed to Disney+. The adaptation tells a new story within the games’ world, with Hideo Kojima serving as an executive producer and Takayuki Sano directing.

The footage centers on a girl waking in distress from nightmares involving BTs, entities that threaten living creatures. It also features imagery familiar from the games, including a courier carrying cargo on their back.

According to the trailer’s YouTube synopsis, the story begins shortly after Sam Porter Bridges uses the Chiral Network to reconnect North America. The girl has withdrawn from other people and prefers being alone, but unexpected encounters draw her into an unfamiliar world. Other characters include an old man with an unusual way of connecting people, a female soldier caught in recurring conflict and a boy angry at his circumstances.

Kojima co-wrote, designed and directed both Death Stranding games. Two separate film adaptations are also in development: the animated Death Stranding Mosquito and a live-action project involving A24.
