Emily Wickersham’s Bishop joins Gibbs investigation in ‘NCIS: Origins’
Her multi-episode return starts October 27, with Tony DiNozzo recruiting Bishop to investigate the attack on Gibbs, according to CBS.

CBS announced on October 20 that Emily Wickersham is bringing Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop to “NCIS: Origins” for a run of multiple episodes. She will first appear on October 27 as the series follows Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ efforts to identify those who shot him.
The network said Tony DiNozzo, now NCIS director, enlists Bishop for the investigation. Her involvement extends a present-day plot that opened in the Season 3 premiere, when Gibbs survived an assault by unidentified attackers.
In footage shared by CBS, Bishop’s unexpected arrival prompts a reunion with Gibbs, who is shown pointing a gun at her. Their exchange reveals that he wanted an unofficial investigation and that DiNozzo approached her because of her own off-the-books activities.
Wickersham’s return follows the October 20 onscreen reunion of Mark Harmon as Gibbs and Michael Weatherly as DiNozzo. Her October 27 episode, “Shimmy Shimmy Ya,” airs on CBS at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Paramount+ also carries the series.
Bishop’s original eight-season run on “NCIS” ended in 2021 with an undercover assignment. Wickersham subsequently returned in Season 23, appearing alongside Wilmer Valderrama’s Nick Torres in March 2026.
