Netflix has announced that Jason Statham will star in Dogfight, a thriller written and directed by Guy Ritchie. The project marks the 59-year-old actor’s first original movie for the streaming service.

Plot details have not been disclosed. Netflix’s Tudum describes the film as a revenge thriller, while Variety reports that production is scheduled for early 2027 in the UK.

The casting brings Statham and Ritchie together again after a collaboration stretching back nearly 30 years. Their first film together was Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 1998. They subsequently worked on Snatch in 2000, Revolver in 2005, Wrath of Man in 2021 and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre in 2023.

Although Statham films including Homefront and The Fate of the Furious are already available on Netflix, none was made as an original for the service. Statham also has The Beekeeper 2 due for release in January 2027; a trailer is available.
