Scarlett Johansson has spoken about the challenge of figuring out her undisclosed character in The Batman Part II. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she described the role as taking her outside her comfort zone and causing existential anxiety.

Johansson could not pinpoint why she found it so difficult, questioning whether the challenge stemmed from the role or her own circumstances. Her comments come after earlier reporting that she was negotiating a deal to join the sequel.

Separately, Warner Bros and DC Studios announced that production had been paused while director Matt Reeves dealt with a personal matter. They did not disclose further details. Steven Soderbergh is stepping in to assist with completing principal photography.

The follow-up to 2022’s The Batman also features Robert Pattinson, alongside cast members Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell and Sebastian Stan. Its cinema release remains scheduled for February 18, 2028.
