Tarantino previews 17 minutes of Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth sequel at AFI Fest
David Fincher directs the Tarantino-written sequel, which is scheduled for IMAX theaters on November 25 and Netflix on December 23.

Quentin Tarantino surprised an AFI Fest audience on October 23 with a 17-minute preview of The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, starring Brad Pitt. Deadline and TheWrap reported that he showed the opening footage during an event at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre.
The presentation accompanied a screening of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and a question-and-answer session with Tarantino. The sequel’s preview has not been made publicly available.
David Fincher directs the new film from Tarantino’s screenplay. It is due in IMAX theaters on November 25, with its Netflix debut scheduled for December 23. Pitt reprises Cliff Booth, a role that earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the 2019 original.
Set in June 1977, the opening finds Cliff apparently working as a manager at Los Angeles’ New Beverly Cinema rather than as a stuntman. The sequel follows his work as a fixer handling problems for people in Hollywood’s entertainment industry.
TheWrap’s eyewitness account described Peter Weller appearing as Cliff’s pawn-shop-owning father and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II appearing in a film playing at the cinema. The footage also shows Cliff purchasing stolen goods, among them a Best Director Oscar. Other cast members include Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan and Carla Gugino.
