Australian producer Maxwell Byrne has announced big soaps, his third dance album as 1tbsp, scheduled for release through dottidot on 2/5. He has also shared “Carottes,” a collaboration with French-Korean artist Miki, alongside a music video.

Byrne said the pair made three songs during a two-hour session in Paris, where his arrival briefly coincided with Miki’s departure for a tour. Two of those recordings appear on the album. He said the main synthesizer chords for “Carottes” came from chopping up an audio snippet Miki had given him.

Byrne also cited Stereo Nova’s 2007 album remastered 1 as an influence on the track. The album includes “Wish You Luck,” featuring kid on air, alongside several collaborations with Colombian-American artist Soltera and Venezuelan-Australian artist Cherry Chola. Miki also appears on “Photoshop/Reformat.”

Previously known for making electro-pop as Golden Vessel, Byrne has upcoming 1tbsp performances listed in Colombia, the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The schedule includes Seismic Dance Event in Austin, Strawberry Fields Festival in Yorta Yorta/Tocumwal and Laneway Festival stops.
