Robert Pattinson expects Batman sequel return as Steven Soderbergh helps finish filming
Matt Reeves has stepped away temporarily for a family matter, while DC Studios says the two filmmakers are working to preserve his vision.

Robert Pattinson expects to return to work on The Batman Part II within days, he told GamesRadar+ in an interview published October 26. Steven Soderbergh is helping complete the shoot during director Matt Reeves’ temporary absence to attend to a family matter.
Pattinson said he believed production had already resumed and that his own filming would begin in a couple of days. The actor welcomed Soderbergh’s involvement, describing it as generous support for Reeves rather than an effort to change the movie’s creative direction.
According to Pattinson, filming is nearly complete. He said Soderbergh’s aim was to help capture the remaining footage so Reeves could finish the movie, after the work Reeves had put into its script.
DC Studios said Soderbergh approached Reeves with an offer to assist during the final weeks of principal photography. The studio said they were collaborating to maintain Reeves’ vision. Reeves has also said his departure is not permanent.
The sequel is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 18, 2028. Pattinson again plays Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside a cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright.
