Producer Andrew Watt says he and Ozzy Osbourne recorded music that remains unreleased, with only tentative plans for listeners to hear it. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Watt said the songs had been created for a particular purpose but declined to explain further.

Watt recalled reviewing the recordings with Osbourne at his Birmingham hotel on the evening before Black Sabbath’s 2025 Back to the Beginning concert. They listened together and took notes after Osbourne repeatedly asked him to visit.

Osbourne died 17 days after the concert. Watt said the hotel visit and the performance the following day were his final encounters with the singer, and that he had not felt able to play the recordings since Osbourne’s death.

The producer worked on Osbourne’s final two albums, Ordinary Man and Patient Number 9. He said he continued to miss the singer daily and credited Osbourne with opening up opportunities for him in rock after his earlier work as a pop producer.
