Camila Mendes is set to play Ana again in Upgraded 2 and take on a producing role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Production on the romantic comedy sequel is scheduled to begin in Italy.

Becca Gleason will direct, while Luke Roberts and Justin Matthews, the writers behind the original movie, will write the follow-up. Honor Role and Gulfstream Pictures are producing. The sequel will stream worldwide on Prime Video, but Amazon MGM has yet to announce its release date.

The story for the new film has not been disclosed. The original debuted on Prime Video in 2024, with Mendes playing an intern at an art auction house who travels to London for work and receives a first-class upgrade.

Ana then meets William, played by Archie Renaux, who believes she is her boss, Claire, played by Marisa Tomei. She maintains the deception as their relationship develops. Mendes also starred in Música, another Prime Video movie released in 2024.
