Fifth Halloweentown movie enters early development at Disney
Lily Houghton and Ryan Koehn are writing the script, but the project has no confirmed cast, plot or release date.

Disney is developing a fifth Halloweentown film, with Lily Houghton and Ryan Koehn writing the screenplay, according to Variety. The project remains at an early stage, arriving 20 years after the fourth installment was released in 2006.
Variety reported that the film would be shown on Disney Channel and Disney+ if it gets formal approval. Casting has not been confirmed, and neither a plot nor a release date has been announced. Several actors from the earlier films have previously expressed interest in returning.
The new project draws on characters created by Paul Bernbaum, the writer of the 1998 original. That film introduced Kimberly J. Brown as Marnie Piper, who learns that her family are witches. Debbie Reynolds played her grandmother, Aggie Cromwell, with Judith Hoag and Joey Zimmerman also in the cast.
Brown reprised Marnie in Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge in 2001 and Halloweentown High in 2004. Sara Paxton took over the role for Return to Halloweentown in 2006.
Houghton’s previous writing credits include the 2026 horror comedy Forbidden Fruits. Koehn previously worked on the Gossip Girl reboot for HBO Max.
