Apple TV has scheduled “Fleetwood Mac: The Chain,” a documentary directed by Frank Marshall, for Friday, January 29, 2027. The streaming platform announced the title and premiere date on X, nearly two years after the project was first announced.

According to Apple TV, the documentary draws on the recollections and perspectives of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. It will trace the group’s 50-plus-year history, using previously unseen footage alongside new interviews.

Apple TV says the film examines the musicians’ creative relationships and the internal and external pressures they faced. Recordings, tours and personal difficulties are among its subjects. The platform puts the band’s worldwide record sales at more than 220 million.

A short teaser is available on X, but a full trailer has not yet been shared. The film will expand an Apple TV music documentary catalog that includes “Beastie Boys Story,” “The Velvet Underground” and “Bono: Stories of Surrender.”
