Omni’s Philip Frobos announces second solo album, Taste For The Unsavory
The new single “The Handoff” features Gustaf’s Lydia Gammill, with a video directed by Zach Pyles.

Philip Frobos of Omni has announced that his second solo album, Taste For The Unsavory, will be released on January 29, 2027, through Danger Collective. The Atlanta post-punk musician’s previous solo album was his 2021 debut, Vague Enough To Satisfy.
The newly released single “The Handoff” pairs Frobos with Gustaf’s Lydia Gammill, with the singers alternating verses. Zach Pyles directed its video. Frobos said he imagined the song as a pulp noir story drawing on the styles of Madchester and Athens, GA.
Rodrigo Avendaño co-produced the album, which also has contributions from Mastodon’s Bill Kelliher and Preoccupations’ Matthew Flegel. Its tracklist includes “Death Of A Chef,” “Project Peppermill,” “Pulling Weeds” and “Kawasaki.”
Omni bandmate Frankie Broyles created the album artwork. The record also comes with a cocktail zine featuring original drinks and pastel illustrations of each cocktail by Frobos’s wife, Emily Frobos. Before announcing the album, Frobos released covers of Sorry and Jane Birkin.
