The Weeknd introduced a new song, “Hong Kong,” as he opened four sold-out nights at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. A performance video shared on his social media pairs the ballad with city footage filmed by videographer Evan Larsen.

The track samples “Seasonal Wind,” the 1993 Cantopop ballad by Hong Kong singer Faye Wong. During the performance, Larsen’s footage filled the large screen behind the singer.

Larsen told the South China Morning Post that The Weeknd’s interest in Hong Kong cinema helped shape the visuals. The singer supplied films for him to watch before visiting the city. Larsen cited Chungking Express, Fallen Angels and John Woo’s A Better Tomorrow and Hard-Boiled among the influences.

The premiere follows two other songs introduced in the cities apparently referenced by their titles: one reportedly named “Rio,” performed in Rio, and another seemingly called “Tokyo,” performed in Tokyo. His 2025 album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, also included “São Paulo” and “Niagara Falls.”
