Adam Driver said his proposed Star Wars film, The Hunt for Ben Solo, is not going ahead and that he considers his time playing Kylo Ren finished. Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show on November 4, he said the character’s death had been cited as a reason not to proceed.

Driver nevertheless left open the possibility of participating if Disney reversed its decision, while saying he believed the opportunity had passed. He had previously said Disney executives rejected the project despite interest from Lucasfilms, the studio behind Star Wars.

The actor disclosed the project in October 2025. He developed it with filmmaker Steven Soderbergh and screenwriters Rebecca Blunt and Scott Z. Burns. Driver said the effort extended over several years, including two years of earnest work, and produced a completed script.

Driver also expressed surprise at fans’ efforts to persuade Disney to reconsider, including billboards and planes flown over Disney. He first portrayed Ben Solo, also known as Kylo Ren, in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The character dies in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
