Jessica Chastain joined Garrett Hedlund and other cast members in New York City on November 5 for the premiere of Heartland, a mystery set in the country music world. The movie is scheduled to debut on Netflix on November 13.

Chastain portrays Misty Jones, a once-famous country performer who leaves seclusion after her niece, an emerging musician, disappears. The investigation forces Misty to confront her past while uncovering secrets in Nashville.

In an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Chastain also explained why she does not want to perform in a Broadway musical. Comparing herself with Heartland performer Jennifer Nettles, she said her own singing varied between takes. She said she lacked the training and skills to feel confident about delivering a consistent performance every night.

Writer and director Shana Feste attended the premiere, along with cast members Carter Faith, Ross Lynch, Ben Dickey, Paul Sparks, Skyler Day and Sarah Helbringer.
