Nicholas Galitzine is in final negotiations to portray Ichabod Crane opposite Sydney Sweeney in “Hollow,” according to Deadline. The film will adapt Lindsey Anderson Beer’s forthcoming novel, which reimagines characters from Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”

Beer will write the screenplay and direct the movie. Sweeney will appear as Katrina Van Tassel, while Belmont Cameli, of “Off Campus,” will play Brom Bones, Crane’s rival.

Van Tassel narrates Beer’s book, placing her at the center of the story rather than treating her as someone for the other characters to win over. The novel involves a dangerous mystery and a supernatural love triangle, combining gothic elements with psychological intrigue and an erotic-thriller approach.

Galitzine would take on a character previously played by Johnny Depp in Tim Burton’s film adaptation of “Sleepy Hollow.” His involvement in “Hollow” remains under negotiation, rather than a completed casting deal.
