Brandon Flowers brought a song considered for the Killers’ 2021 album Pressure Machine to his solo stage in Manchester. He performed “Diamonds On Black Velvet” at O2 Apollo during his UK tour, giving an airing to material that did not make the album’s final tracklist.

The song’s title had surfaced in an Amazon Music video conversation between Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. while Pressure Machine was being made. Flowers later said on Instagram Live that the song’s romantic character had led to its exclusion.

At the tour’s Bristol stop, Flowers introduced another song, “A Good Man Is Hard To Find,” and teased a follow-up to his solo album Thrasher.

Flowers made Thrasher, a country record, in Nashville alongside producers Jonathan Rado and Shawn Everett. The pair also worked on Pressure Machine and the Killers’ 2020 album Imploding The Mirage.
