Emma Stone appeared during host Druski’s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live on November 7, joining her co-star in the upcoming film The Catch for an exchange about whether their characters were romantically involved.

Druski told the audience he had finished filming his first movie with Stone and said he played her romantic partner. Stone corrected him, joking that his misunderstanding explained the way he had looked at her during their scenes. Druski then joked that it also explained why they had not kissed and suggested a sequel could change that.

The Catch is directed by Stone’s husband, Dave McCary. According to Deadline, it is a baseball romantic comedy, with Stone portraying a woman widely disliked in the sport and Druski playing her security guard. Further plot details remain undisclosed.

Chris Pine is also in the cast, alongside Saturday Night Live’s Ashley Padilla, who plays Stone’s sister. Stone has hosted the sketch show five times.
