Another version of Downton Abbey remains a possibility, creator Julian Fellowes told People, although he said he did not anticipate making more with the original cast. He offered no firm answer when asked whether another movie could follow Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale.

Fellowes said he was unsure whether the franchise would have a different incarnation and considered a definitive answer premature. His comments left that possibility unresolved rather than confirming a new project.

In September 2025, Fellowes also told People that the franchise might not be entirely finished, while expressing doubt that audiences would see the original cast again.

The Grand Finale takes the Crawley family and its staff into the 1930s. The television drama launched in September 2010 and had six seasons. Its first film arrived in 2019, with a second following in 2022 and a third in 2025.
