Nine Perfect Lives debuts with “Die” and announces support shows
The duo features two members of Brooklyn trio Hello Mary. Its first single arrives on AD 93 alongside a video directed by Milo Hume.

Stella Wave and Helena Straight of Hello Mary have released “Die,” the debut single from their side project Nine Perfect Lives, on AD 93. Milo Hume directed the accompanying music video, and the duo has upcoming shows supporting Friko and Lime Garden.
Straight said the song took shape while she was living in LA and Wave remained in Brooklyn. They were making an effort to keep collaborating from separate cities, but Straight was uncertain about returning to New York.
She said she recorded an initial demo in a few hours, then understood it as a response to Wave’s distress over her abrupt move. Working on the song together helped reaffirm a creative bond that had been strained within Hello Mary, according to Straight. It became Nine Perfect Lives’ first song.
The Friko support dates include stops in Durham, Atlanta and Nashville. The duo will also open for Lime Garden at Elsewhere Zone 1 in Brooklyn on November 6 and November 7.
