One Wonders, the debut book by My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James, will be published on April 13, 2027. The memoir traces his upbringing in Louisville, his connection to music and his difficulties with drinking and depression.

Explaining his decision to write it, James said five or six years of progress in therapy had led him to reflect on what he wanted to express, through both his music and his life.

He contrasted that openness with the reticence of older family members, who generally kept their experiences private. James said he hoped sharing his mental health struggles could help others experiencing depression and show readers that asking for help was acceptable.

James will read the audiobook himself. Signed editions will be available through Louisville's Carmichael's Bookstore.

The book announcement follows Wowed Out, which marked James' return to solo albums after eight years.
