Australian punk band The Chats have announced Half Cut, their next album, with a March 5, 2027, release date through Virgin Music Group. They have also released its lead single, “Off It,” accompanied by a video directed by Matt Weston.

The album follows 2022's Get Fucked. Recording took place at Maple Sound Studio in Los Angeles with Jay Whalley of Frenzal Rhomb, following the band's recent tour with Social Distortion and Descendents.

Vocalist Eamon Sandwith described the new material as somewhat more open than the band's earlier work. He characterized it as a progression while stopping short of calling it mature.

“Off It” opens the album, whose other songs include “Brown Bottle Flu,” “Drinking For Two,” “Damage Control” and “Turpentine.” The closing track is “Should Know Better.”

The band's announced Australian shows include Brisbane's Crowbar on November 13 and 14, three Sydney Crowbar dates on November 19–21, and three appearances at Melbourne's The Tote on November 26–28.
