Panchiko have announced Chimera, an album due April 9 through Nettwerk. The band has also released its lead single, “One Car Hits Another,” featuring Mei Semones, whose contributions extend to three songs on the record.

Semones also appears on “Glazing” alongside Hugh Pascall and on “Zinc Spark” with Korea Girl. Clarion contributes to “Overwrite” and “Giorgia,” while billy woods and Cotillon feature on the opening track, “Day One.” Other guests include Abby Sage, CJ's Mirra Maze and Lula Nova.

Explaining the single, Panchiko's Andy Wright said he imagined a car collision unfolding slowly as onlookers and potential victims sang along. He described the song as drawing a connection between a crash and a handshake, treating both as forms of meeting.

The British group reunited after discovering in 2020 that its self-released 2000 recording, D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L, had attracted an online following. Panchiko subsequently released the comeback album Ginkgo in 2024.
