Jumanji: Open World has an online trailer ahead of its planned theatrical release on December 25th. The movie will close the trilogy, with Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan returning to lead the cast.

The premise moves the danger beyond the jungle: Jumanji escapes its console and spills into the real world. Body swapping remains part of the adventure, with the trailer showing Johnson’s game avatar inhabited by a middle-aged mother.

The returning ensemble also includes Danny DeVito, Nick Jonas, Rhys Darby and Ser’Darius Blain, alongside Morgan Turner, Madison Iseman and Alex Wolff. They reprise roles from the earlier films, while Burn Gorman and Brittany O’Grady join as new cast members.

The two preceding movies each drew substantial worldwide box-office receipts. The 2017 film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle earned US$962 million globally; its 2019 successor, Jumanji: The Next Level, recorded worldwide takings of US$801 million.
